The Water Horse is a adaptation of Dick King-Smith’s children’s fiction of the same name. The RSPCA or Peta would be pleased to know that this movie promotes the rights of the animal. A mystical, mythical creature has the same rights as every living creature. A life is a life, no matter how big or small. The pro-lifers and anti-abortionists might gloat at this propagation of their common values.
Top 4 reasons why this movie rocks:
- It advocates respect for life and friendship among different life forms. There is no status quo as all life need to cooperate to survive.
- It shows patriotism, love for one’s country and respect for the authorities. No matter how harsh or disagreeable, the submission to a higher order was necessary.
- It shows class at work. There was no need of swearing or harsh criticism as the dignified speech was just as effective.
- This is not just for kids. It is for parents and everyone else. It is a beautiful story.
