Sonny Graham, 69, received Terry Cottle’s heart, met his widow Cheryl and married her. Terry, 33, committed suicide by a shot to his head.
Twelve years after Sonny received the heart transplant, he suddenly committed suicide. What was even more bizarre was that he died in the same way as his heart donor. He killed himself by shooting his own throat.
Scientists said that there were about 70 documented cases of transplant patients undergoing personality changes as they assume some of the characteristics of the donor.
Should organ donors who have committed suicide or led disputable lives be rejected?
