Alistair Darling wanted a private buyer for Northern Rock but Gordon Brown influeneced him to nationalize Northern Rock. Ron Sandler will be inn charge of NR.

Mortgaged homes will be repossessed.

6500 staff to be trimmed.

Taxpayer burdened.

180,000 shareholders get nothing.
