Marion Cotillard, Best Actress, for BAFTA Awards

She won. She is Marion Cotillard, 32, French actress star of La Vie En Rose. This was the documentary of the Parisian singer Edith Piaf.

Brit Julie Christie and Keira Knightley were snubbed.

Keira’s film, The Atonement, failed miserably. It had 14 nominations but won only 1 award. At that time, the Hollywood writers were on full strike and the Golden Globes was miserable. Now that the Hollywood scripters are back, Atonement and the British have no chances.
