Anthony Minghella died from a fatal haemorrhage. He had throat cancer surgery and succumbed in the aftermath. He died at the age 54, at 5am, Mar. 18, 2008. One famous film he directed was Cold Mountain, in 2003. Renee Zellweger won an Oscar for her role. She put herself on a strict diet of eating only 2 hard boiled eggs daily.
Anthony had a humble beginning. He was an ice cream seller in his family’s business. He grew up to love the big screen. He wrote roles to include his parents and they have helped to win Oscars for the movies they acted in. During the premiere of Cold Mountain, the Minghella family business supplied 2000 tubs of ice cream. Anthony was a great man who paid tribute to his humble roots in his parents and early livelihood.
